USD/CHF hits fresh highs above 0.8900

FXStreet (Córdoba) - USD/CHF climbed significantly during the European session, strengthened after breaking above 0.8825 and recently printed a fresh 1-week high at 0.8925. Currently trades at 0.8900/10, 1.20% above today’s opening price.

Greenback is having the best day versus the Swiss franc since January 15, when the CHF jumped in the market following radical changes in the SNB policy. The Swissy is among the worst performer across the board on Monday.

On European horus the USD/CHF dropped to test daily lows at 0.8760/65 but then bounced, rising more than 150 pips. The pair is rising for the third trading day in a row and today it has been able to break the important short term resistance located at 0.8820/30 (Jan 20, 23 high).

USD/CAD may move towards 1.30 in the next few weeks – TDS

Shaun Osborne, Chief FX Strategist, at TD Securities, feels that the recovery prospects for CAD look meek this stage and USD/CAD will likely move towards 1.30 levels in the coming few weeks.
