US stocks turn flat after FOMC minutes

FXStreet (Córdoba) - US stocks initially inched higher and then turned lower and entered negative ground for the day following the release of the FOMC meeting minutes, which showed a June rate hike was “unlikely”, although not out of the table.

The Dow Jones dropped 0.11% to 18,324, the S&P 500 was 0.04% down at 2,130 and the Nasdaq was up 0.06% at 5,087.

Valeria Bednarik, chief analyst at FXStreet noted that the dollar discretely extended its Tuesday's advance at the beginning of the day, but traded for the most range bound against most of its major rivals until the release of US FOMC Minutes during the American afternoon.
