US stocks close higher for first time this week

FXStreet (Córdoba) - US stocks closed higher on Thursday for first time this week, snapping a three-day lossing streak despite the continued fall in oil prices.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 82.45 points, or 0.47%, to 17,574. The S&P 500 climbed 4.61 points, or 0.23%, to 2,052. The Nasdaq Composite gained 22.31 points, or 0.44%, to 5,045.

Nikkei presents a limited upward potential - FXStreet

The Nikkei closed Thursday down 251 points or 1.32% at 19,046.55, having however, recovered from the fresh 5-week low of 18,852 reached the previous day. The index fell as a sudden advance in the Japanese yen affected export-related shares, and remained under pressure, all through the session.
